Jie Yang went on a 6-month mission trip to New Delhi, India last August for 6 months to support the ministry in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Markus joined the JNU ministry in October last year for 2 months, while Alex joined them briefly last December for 2 weeks.
In 2022, the community ministries in The Navigators Singapore were restructured to form the City Discipling Network (CDN) headed by Christopher and Patricia Lian. In order to align existing community ministries and build the foundation for the future work of CDN, Chris and Pat developed two frameworks to guide the staff and volunteer leaders in the Network.
Building relationships is crucial in breaking down the worldview that hinders people from enjoying life in Jesus. By opening our hearts and homes, spending time together, sharing our lives, and living out the gospel, we can build trust and create opportunities for others to see the true freedom and joy that comes from our faith.
I have learnt about God’s desire for my heart to be enlarged in love, one individual at a time, until I learn to love the world as He does... I found myself confronted with the question of whether I was firmly convicted of this in my heart while I was there.
Being involved with the Navigators is more than just learning the methods or skills to disciple someone, but it is also about learning to have a heart for the individual. Every individual's life has the potential to multiply for Christ. This motivates me to share my life and impart my life unto others as I disciple God's people.
