Alumni gathering — a breath of fresh air

Alumni praying for the Navigator ministry

It was a breath of fresh air to see the more than 100 alumni come for our Alumni Inaugural Gathering held this afternoon at the Grand Mecure Roxy Hotel. The alumni brought much energy into the event and also hopes of greater partnership to advance the gospel.

Alumnus Alex Lo said, “We hope to reconnect, build a network, rekindle passion for disciplemaking, refire the vision of the Navigators, know what people are doing, align with what they are keen to explore, or offer, and develop discussions to a point where they are comfortable to partner with us. They might not plug back into the Navigators but they could helm disciplemaking efforts in their own churches, or wherever they are, and become ‘labourers next door to everywhere.

If you are a Navigator alumnus, we’d like to connect with you.

We’d like to get to know you

Bengaluru, 10-16 June 2008

India was a time for me to focus on other people, to step out of my comfort zone, and be humble. The ten days were a great learning experience and I hope to apply them from now on. — Suyintha Supramaniam, mission tripper

Discipleship Camp

Posted on June 3, 2008 | Filed Under Discipleship, Ministries, News, Training

The Singapore Polytechnic Navigators (SP) had its Discipleship Camp last 24-27 March 2008 at Changi Chalet, Aloha Resort. Focusing on the lordship of Jesus as the theme, the campers went home with a fresh commitment to spend regular daily quiet time with the Lord.

“A mother sent us a message to express her appreciation for our help and the joy of seeing changes in her child after the camp,” said Chong Lee Yin, SP Navigator staff member.

Former Navigator National Director Wong Kim Tok shared messages on “Christ our Foundation” and “Born to grow”. He and his wife also talked about “BGR” (boy and girl relationship).

“I asked the students if they felt the messages were too long (more than an hour for each message), they told me ‘no’. In fact, they found them relevant, helpful, and interesting.”

The campers also enjoyed board games, captain ball, and Pulau Ubin cycling trip. Parents were invited, too, for barbeque and had fun.
